For correct execution of our creative ideas, we need a sewing machine that will give a seamless experience when sewing; a machine that will give precision in the stitches;a machine with impressive features ( needed or not needed, that is another question); a machine that will lead to accurate results without too many glitches.

One thing that you may want to add to the Bernina category is the Bernette sewing machines that are made by Bernina and are great machines but don’t cost as much as Bernina. They have several great machines made for beginners at good price points. I have a Bernette B38 and I am very happy with it.
Thank you for sharing such detailed sewing information.

I own 2 Janomes, and have worked with a Babylock overlocker, a Bernina machine, and an industrial Juki. Janomes are a handful, and can be quite hard to handle, especially for beginners. Bernina machines are easier to handle, and are high quality. Juki machines are VERY docile and easy to handle. I was doing work experience at Opera Australia, and I was designated to the Juki for that very reason. Babylock machines I don’t have a lot to say about, but they do work well.

      Hi Zerlene
As I do not own this machine I am unable to help you other than point you to this page on the web https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/media/products/singer/9960/documents/9960-manual-esf.pdf – this looks to be the manual for your machine. There seems to be a page on this manual which has the intructions of the buttons on the machine. 24th page I think. Maybe you can take a bigger printout of this and use near the machine
      Best wishes.
